The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Treasury met with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the statement, Ishaq Dar and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury discussed bilateral relations.
The Treasury said the government inherited a weak economy, but despite the difficult economic conditions, reforms are underway in all sectors, including energy and capital markets, for sustainable development and growth of economy.
Ishaq Dar informed the US officials about the government’s priorities, informed about the economic losses caused by the recent worst floods, Ishaq Dar said that despite the difficulties, efforts are being made to fix economic issues, Pakistan will fulfill its international obligations.
On this occasion, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Robert Kapruth emphasized the good relationship between Pakistan and the US.
Robert Kapruth expressed confidence in the government’s policies and programs for economic and financial stability. He also assured his support and cooperation in economic and financial matters for which the Minister of Finance thanked Robert Kapruth.
