Naqeebullah Mehsud was killed in a police encounter in Malir district on January 13, 2018. The family members of Naqeebullah Mehsud said that he was abducted by the police on January 3. Naqeebullah Mehsud belongs to Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was buried in his native village Makin, Janvi Waziristan. The police accused him of belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban. Commissioner Karachi has set a control rate for the sale of flour. Where it seems impossible to find flour anywhere. Flour is sold at 150 rupees per kilogram in Karachi city. After the local body elections of Sindh, the manipulation is still going on. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haque also visited Karachi and openly announced that the People’s Party should know that the mayor will be ours. The ministers of the People’s Party declare that we are the majority party, so we have the right to elect a mayor, but they do not have the necessary number. The People’s Party is trying to support Jamaat-e-Islami for the mayoralty of Karachi city.

Negotiations have also taken place between the People’s Party and Jamaat-e-Islami, while talks are ongoing with Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami. It seems that Jamaat-e-Islami has become a necessity for mayorship on both sides. The Tehreek-e-Insaaf is not in a position to seek a mayor from the Jamaat-e-Islami as opposed to the People’s Party, but it wants to work with the Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat-e-Islami has to decide with whom it wants to ally. If Jamaat-e-Islami and People’s Party merge, what path will Tehreek-e-Insaf take, will it also support Jamaat-e-Islami for the mayoralty or will it prefer to sit in the opposition? It has not yet been decided. The election of special seats in the second phase of the election is unprecedented. After that, the final list will be prepared and then the election of Town Mayor and City Mayor will take place.

The People’s Party has also tied up with the Muslim League-N, but all its efforts for the required seats are to unite the Jamaat-e-Islami. The Jamaat-e-Islami leadership said that if there is an attempt to reduce our mandate, we will fight hard. Power outages have completely paralyzed life across the country. This caused huge losses at the business level. Such breakdowns have happened before but no permanent solution to such technical glitches has been found.

According to OGDCL, vast gas reserves have been discovered in Sindh province. 3.29 billion cubic feet of natural gas reserves were discovered in Gudu. Sindh is already the largest gas producing province. Which provides 70% of the country’s gas. Work on Groblok has been going on for the past 20 years. The gas exploration license was issued here in 1999. A lot still needs to be done for the rehabilitation of flood victims in Sindh province. Nowadays, Pakistanis living abroad are also coming with help. The Sindh government has announced that they intend to convene a post-Geneva conference. Because there must be a follow-up session to fulfill the promises made at the Donors Conference.

A news came out about the Federal Minister of Finance with loans for most projects at the Geneva Conference. The details of the terms of the loans were not disclosed. Food prices are not going down. The federal government has stopped further hikes in the prices of petroleum products, but despite this, shortages and price hikes have been witnessed. Hundreds of containers were not cleared in Karachi and Port Qasim. Because of which the business community is suffering from problems. In this regard, representatives of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry are trying to help industrialists and importers, but no significant benefits have been achieved yet.
