The old flyover at Chandni Chowk on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway will be demolished to solve the traffic jam. The bridge will be demolished on Sunday (October 2nd) at 2:00 am. Therefore, traffic in Chandni Chowk will be closed from 11 pm on Saturday (October 1) to 8 am on Sunday (October 2). During this period, the administration has provided alternative routes for light vehicles going from Mumbai to Satara and from Satara to Mumbai.

Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Rahul Srirame gave this information after the meeting of the concerned agencies regarding the demolition of the old flyover in Chandni Chowk. He said, ‘Traffic in Chandni Chowk will be completely stopped from 11 pm to 8 am on October 1. During this period, heavy traffic coming from Mumbai will be stopped near Talegaon Dabhade Pathkar Naka (Toll Gate), while heavy traffic coming from Satara will be stopped at Khed-Shivapur area. Three alternative routes have been fixed from Mumbai to Satara and from Satara to Mumbai for light vehicles only during traffic closure period for bridge demolition work. However, citizens should avoid possible travel during this period. Alternative routes have been made available in case of travel for some urgent reasons.’

Light vehicles from Mumbai to Satara from Junya Pune-Mumbai Pathkar Nakaya (Toll Naka) Somatne Phata, Dehu Road, Bhakti-Shakti Chowk, Nashik Phata, Khadki, Government College of Engineering (COEP) Chowk, Sancheti Hospital, S. Go. One can go to Satara from Barve Chowk (Modern Cafe Chowk), Jungli Maharaj Road, Khanduji Baba Chowk, Tilak Chowk, Swargate, Satara Road, Katraj Chowk. Also after coming to Wakad from Mumbai, Aundh from Rajiv Gandhi Bridge, Anandrishiji Chowk (square in front of Savitribai Phule University), Sancheti Hospital, S. Go. Barve Chowk, Jungli Maharaj Road, Tilak Chowk, Swargate, Satara Road will be routed towards Satara. Apart from this, after coming to Baner from Mumbai, Vidyapeeth Chowk, Sancheti Hospital, S. Go. One can go to Satara from Barve Chowk, Jungli Maharaj Road, Tilak Chowk and Swargate from Satara Road.

Meanwhile, for light vehicles going from Satara to Mumbai via the old tunnel via Katraj-Swargate-Tilak Chowk-Shivajinagar-Vidyapith Chowk, Baner or Pashan or Aundh Roads can directly take the highway towards Mumbai. Another alternative route from Satara to Mumbai is Navale Bridge, Vadgaon Bridge, Sinhagad Road, Rajaram Bridge, via Late Raja Mantri Path (DP Road), Nalstop, Poud Phata, Law College Road, Senapati Bapat Marg, Vidyapeeth Chowk and from there via Baner or Pashan or Aundh Road. One can go to Mumbai by highway or the third alternative road from Satara to Mumbai is via Warje bridge, Karve road through Ambedkar Chowk, Van Devi, Karve Putla Chowk, Paud Phata, Law College Road, Senapati Bapat Marg, Vidyapeeth Chowk and from there through Baner or Pashan or Aundh road to Mumbai. , said Srirame.
