Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad police conducted a special campaign and literally washed away the street gangs who roam around schools and colleges for no reason and molest young women. Action has been taken against 25 people in this action and cases have been registered against two people. So, action has been taken against 153 persons under the Motor Vehicle Act and a fine of Rs.1.5 lakh has been collected.
Complaints were coming to the police that young women were being molested on a large scale in the premises of schools, colleges and nearby areas. Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde took notice of it. The team of Pimpri Police Commissionerate conducted a special campaign on July 22 and took action at 67 places. The police gave ‘prasad’ to the youths who were roaming around for no reason. So, criminal action was taken against many. Senior Police Inspector Raosaheb Jadhav said that this kind of strike campaign will continue. Strict action will be taken against those found misbehaving in school and college premises.
