Lahore: As the cameras installed for e-challan were not working, the number of daily e-challaning in the city dropped from 12 thousand to 2 thousand, the treasury started losing crores of rupees.

According to Express News, since the cameras installed for e-challaning in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, are not working, the treasury has started suffering a lot. The number of e-challaning in the city has come down from 12 thousand to 2 thousand.

According to the report, there was a loss of 1 billion annually due to non-operation of e-challaning cameras.

Sources say that the government was repeatedly informed by the Safe Cities Authority, but due to the government’s delay in dealing with the foreign company, the loss reached 1 billion.

According to the data released by the authorities, since the start of e-challaning, more than 8 million e-challans worth more than 2 billion 90 crores have been issued, but there is a decline in e-challaning due to malfunctions in cameras .

Sources further said that operational and maintenance matters with the foreign company are in final stages.
